HHI Design Honor Award

These courtyard cottages in Old Shell Point were recognized by our local chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The Courtyard Cottages are small homes ranging from 700 to 1,100 square feet that share a common space, such as a courtyard, pool, or small green. Because of their size they are offered at a lower price point, giving the developer the opportunity to attract a broader spectrum of buyers. Each cottage addresses both path and brick courtyard, preserving connectivity and promoting neighborly interaction. Each courtyard has its own masonry fire pit, which can be used to cook hot dogs for an impromptu cook out, or as a place to warm up during a Lowcountry oyster roast.
